Course Selection Information for Undergraduate Courses in the 113-2 Semester
Please carefully review the following announcement. Students must directly contact the course instructors for signatures and complete the paper forms. Late submissions or failure to follow the specified procedures will not be accepted to ensure fairness.
[Special Course Information for Undergraduate Students]
EN242G (Material and Energy Balances):
★ Allocated to students in this department with student IDs beginning with 111. If other students from this department wish to enroll, they must complete the form by 12:00 PM on December 19, 2024 (Thursday). Late submissions will not be considered if the classroom capacity is full: https://forms.gle/TTvD2K1Fhsx4ts7C8.
★ If you choose not to take this course, you have the following options:
- Enroll in a 3-credit “Mass and Energy Balances” course offered by another department or university.
- Substitute with the department’s 3-credit “Resource Circulation Engineering” course. (This course cannot also count as a departmental elective or free elective but can simultaneously fulfill the Employment Program requirements.)
- Substitute with the department’s “Unit Operation and Processes in Environmental Engineering” course. (This course cannot also count as a departmental elective or free elective but can simultaneously fulfill the Employment Program requirements.)
“Engineering Mechanics” Cancellation:
If this course is listed as a required course in your undergraduate program’s curriculum, please note that it has been removed from the curriculum starting in the 112th academic year and may not be offered in the future. The following alternatives are available for credit recognition:
- Take a 3-credit 應用力學“Applied Mechanics” course offered by another department or university.
- Take a 3-credit 材料力學“Strength of Materials” course offered by another department or university.
Students should carefully monitor their course selection and follow the procedures of the offering department. There is no need to submit any applications to this department.
Substitution for Discontinued Courses in the Employment Program Graduation Requirements:
The two courses, “Practical Applications of Environmental Education” and “Environmental Education Industry”, have not been offered since the 111th academic year, and their future availability is uncertain. Considering that fulfilling the Employment Program is a graduation requirement for undergraduate students in this department, the course “Environmental Planning and Management” (3 credits) can be used as a substitution.
Please note that these substitutions apply only to meeting the graduation requirement and do not count toward earning the Employment Program certificate. To obtain the certificate, you must have completed both “Practical Applications of Environmental Education” and “Environmental Education Industry.”
EN423L ” Summer Engineering Practice (II)”, EN410L ” Internship (II)”, EN299L “Special Research Topic (II)”:
- Please contact the departmental assistant by 4:00 PM on February 25, 2025 (Tuesday) for assistance. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- ★ Important Notes:
- “ Summer Engineering Practice (II)“: Limited to fourth-year students with the same student ID group who are completing a second summer internship during their time in the Environmental Engineering Department.
- “ Internship (II)“: Limited to fourth-year students participating in a semester-long internship between February and July 2025.
- “ Special Research Topic (II)“: All fourth-year students who enrolled in EN336L “Special Research Project (I)” in the 113-1 semester must be enrolled in this course by the departmental assistant.

- Course Selection Period: Starting from the “First Phase Registration”, make every effort to secure your desired courses early. It is also recommended to check the course selection system during each phase—there’s always a chance if you try.
- Notes:
- Course selection via the “Online Form Process” announced in the Course Selection Bulletin is not permitted.
- Required courses will be automatically assigned. Students can drop them, but this is at their own risk, as it may lead to being unable to re-enroll or graduate on time.
- For departmental professional required courses, students must have failed the course at least twice in this department before taking it at another department or university.
- For general required courses shared across departments/universities, there are no such restrictions as long as the credits meet or exceed the department’s requirements and the course name is exactly the same (e.g., 微積分 (Calculus), 普通物理(一) (General Physics I), 普通物理(二) (General Physics II), etc.).
- Lower-year students are not permitted to take upper-year courses.
[Non-Departmental Students in Minor/Dual Degree Programs or Microcredit Programs]
-
- Course Selection Period and Method: Course selection is only available through the “Online Form Process” described in the Course Selection Bulletin. Please pay attention to the deadlines.
- Before Completing the Form:
- Ensure the course time slot is free in your schedule; otherwise, any attempts to add the course will result in a scheduling conflict error.
- Verify that you have sufficient credit and schedule availability. If any errors occur during the course addition process, they will only be noted in the online system without further notification, and no additional assistance will be provided.
